Our History

Our History:
From Trinity Tots to Trinity Academy

The story of Trinity Academy in Hudson, Wisconsin, begins with a simple mission: to provide a Christ-centered place of learning where children could grow in faith, character, and knowledge.

Trinity Tots

Early Childhood Roots (1977–2002)

In 1977, Trinity Tots was founded by Linda Becken as a ministry of Trinity Lutheran Church. What began as a small church preschool quickly became a valued early childhood program in the Hudson community. For 25 years — from 1977 through 2002 — Trinity Tots offered young children a nurturing and faith-focused start to their educational journey.

Throughout its years of service, Trinity Tots emphasized spiritual growth, social development, and early learning foundations rooted in Lutheran Christian teaching. Many families in the Hudson area began their children’s academic experience in this welcoming preschool environment.

Trinity Lutheran School

Expanding Faith and Learning (1995–2002)

Building on the success of Trinity Tots, the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church recognized a need for Christian elementary education and, in 1995, established Trinity Lutheran School. This new ministry began offering elementary grades with a mission to extend early learning into a broader academic experience grounded in Scripture.

Over the next several years, Trinity Lutheran School grew steadily. Early classes focused on the elementary grades, serving families seeking an education that integrated academic excellence with Christian values.

Transition to Trinity Academy

Growth and Accreditation (2002–Present)

In the early 2000s, as the school continued to grow and refine its identity, the name Trinity Academy was adopted to reflect its expanding academic vision and mission. In 2007, Trinity Academy earned accreditation through the Wisconsin Religious and Independent Schools Accreditation (WRISA) — a milestone affirming the school’s commitment to high academic and spiritual standards.

As enrollment increased and the curriculum expanded, the Academy continued to add grade levels. A significant milestone came in 2012, when the first graduating class of 8th grade completed their education at Trinity Academy, marking the full establishment of the middle school program (grades 6–8).

In the summer of 2013, the Academy undertook a major building expansion in Hudson. This project added a new upper-level addition to the facility, providing dedicated classroom space and resources. Following the expansion, grades 4 through 8 were moved upstairs, enabling a more age-appropriate learning environment and room for continued growth.

Today

Today, Trinity Academy serves families from preschool through 8th grade, offering a comprehensive Christian education that prepares students academically, spiritually, and socially for the future. The legacy that began with Trinity Tots in 1977 lives on in classrooms where faith and learning walk hand in hand.
